Condensed Milk

  • Serving 1 cup
  • Time to cook – 40 minutes


  • 2 cups of full fat milk
  • 2/3 cup of sugar


Add 2 cups of milk and 2/3 cup sugar in thick bottomed pan. 

Heat the milk on a medium flame till the sugar dissolves and then lower the flame. 

Gently simmer the mixture on low flame till it turns to creamy color or the quantity has reduced to half. Keep stirring the mixture in between to prevent milk from sticking to the pan. 

After about 35-40 mins, it will turn a little thick. Remove it from flame at this point.As it rests, the mixture thickens more, so be careful.

Once it’s cooled down, it should be thick but should have a flowy consistency. 


  • Keep stirring the mixture in regular intervals on lower flame only. 
  • Take off the flame when it has thickened slightly, as it will thicken more while cooling down. 
  • Store it in a closed container in the refrigerator.
